This is the sound we heard quite a bit today as we dissected owl pellets. Yes, owl pellets! We found skulls, claws, teeth, fur, and many other parts of mice. An owl pellet is the vomit from an owl where they get rid of the parts of the mouse that they cannot digest. Through our dissections, we are learning about food chains!

animal adaptations
Today in science we got a bag to sort, it had photos of animals and we put them into the right habitats/environments.Then we had to put then in their right adaptations. We learned that ADAPTATION means living organisms changing in order to survive in their environment. Also it is sometimes hard for the animals to adapt to their environment because their adaptation is not always perfect.

The Puzzling World of Winston Breen-Puzzle 1
We have started a new read-aloud, The Puzzling World of Winston Breen by Eric Berlin! Each chapter has a puzzle that contains clues for the rest of the story. When we have a new puzzle, I will post it to the blog so students can work on it at home! Find the first puzzle for Chapter 1 below! Good luck! :)
Dear Henry,
Each of the words in this list can be found in the grid, reading across, down, or diagonally, and either forward or backward. Some of the words will cross the shaded middle row, whose letters are all missing--you'll need to fill in these letters. When you've found all the words, the middle row will spell out the title of this puzzle.
*Hint: Click on the puzzle to make it larger! You can even print out the puzzle if you would like!*

Welcome!
Welcome to our class blog!
Throughout the year you will find glimpses into our days here on the blog. Once I have everyone's release forms to take photos, I will begin to post pictures here of the learning that is going on in the classroom so you can catch a glimpse into our time together!
Make sure to take time to subscribe to our class blog so you can get an email when there is a new post. The post will be sent directly to your email. You can find directions on how to do that here. You will also find other important links on the right-hand side of this page.
I will also update you more regularly and with important reminders through email once a week. This will begin once I have your emails returned on the "Getting to Know Your Child" form that went home with you at Open House.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions! I look forward to working with you this year!
